What is Heritage?
A private MapleStory server for the GMS v232 client, made by a small team for learning and for the community. It is independent and has no link to Nexon.
What are the rates?
EXP, drop and meso are all 1x, the original rates.
Is it free?
Yes, playing is free. Donations exist only to keep the server running.
Which languages does it support?
English, Portuguese (Brazil) and Spanish (Latin America). The site, the quests, the NPC dialogue and the interface are available in the three, and the chat is translated between them.
How does the chat translation work?
Map, party, guild and whisper chat are translated automatically while you play. Type @lang en, @lang pt or @lang es in game to choose the language you read. It is machine translation, so slang and game terms can come out wrong.
How do I start?
Create an account on the site, download the launcher on the Play page, extract it into an empty folder and open it. The first run downloads the game, about 20 GB.
How much disk space do I need?
About 25 GB free. The first download is about 20 GB.
Why does Windows say it protected my PC?
The launcher does not have a paid digital signature yet. Click "More info" and then "Run anyway". If your antivirus deletes files, add the game folder to its exclusions.
How does the launcher update?
It downloads the game once and after that only what changed. New versions of the launcher itself are downloaded and installed by it when you open it. For that to work, do not rename the launcher file.
Can I play on Mac, Linux or mobile?
No. The launcher and the client are for Windows and we do not support other systems.
What does "closed beta" mean here?
The server is still being built. Progress can be reset before the official launch, some quests and NPCs are incomplete or broken, and the server can restart for fixes.
Some quest or NPC does not work. What do I do?
It is probably not finished yet. Report it through the bug bounty with the quest or NPC name and the map. Reports help us fix things faster.
What is the bug bounty?
A program that rewards players who find and report problems with Heritage Points. Valid reports earn points, and a fix that works and is used earns a bonus. The points stay on your account for the official launch.
Who can take part in the bug bounty?
Only game accounts linked to Discord. To link, your game account must be at least 3 days old and your Discord account at least 30 days old. A link can only be removed 30 days after it was made.
How do I report a bug?
With the /bug command on our Discord, or on the bug bounty page when you are logged in. Say what happened, how to repeat it and where. Exploits go in private: report them and do not use them.
I forgot my password. What now?
The site has no password reset yet. Ask the staff on Discord.
Where is the ranking?
On the Ranking page, ordered by level, with a search by character name. Staff accounts do not appear.
Can I donate?
Yes, on the Donate page after you log in. Donations keep the server running.
Is Heritage affiliated with Nexon?
No. Heritage is an independent, non-commercial private server. MapleStory and related names belong to their owners.
